This 148-acre ranch is part of the Ponderosa Ranches, just outside of Pie Town, New Mexico. The highly coveted Pie Town area is rich in tall grasses, thick tree cover and rugged, rocky outcroppings. This habitat makes for some of the best hunting in New Mexico and is also fantastic for cattle and livestock grazing. Only a 1.5 hour drive from Albuquerque and 25 minutes to Pie Town, the Ponderosa Pie Ranch has fantastic views of the Sawtooth Mountains. The Home
The headquarters of this property is a 1400, sq. foot Solitaire modular home. This home was purchased new in 2005 and is in A+ condition. It features 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths, a large kitchen, large living room and a full-size laundry room. The master bathroom has a large, jetted garden tub. The owner had it built with 2”x6” construction and extra insulation.

The home was installed on a heavy-duty concrete slab and has electricity. Water is served by a high capacity well with very good water. A large pump and filtration system deliver as much good water as you could possibly use. Everything about the home has been built to maximum specifications with no corners cut and every detail accounted for. The home is heated using propane. There is a large steel shelter which provides cover to a tractor, 4-wheelers and vehicles.

The home was built on a rocky bluff, sitting up high with incredible views overlooking the property.

The Land
The ranch is 148 +/- acres, deeded. The terrain varies from wide open grassy pastures, to dense areas of Juniper, Piñon and Ponderosa pine trees. There are many large rock outcroppings and some extremely interesting rock formations.

Roads on the ranch are in great shape and are regularly maintained.

The land was home to many indigenous Native American people over thousands of years. Evidence of this is found in a bounty of pottery shards, arrowheads and even some petroglyphs within the property.

A 1950’s era windmill was installed and is operational. It’s main purpose, however, is to add to the charming aesthetic of the land.

Hunting and Livestock
The ranch sits in Unit 13 and is eligible for two landowner elk tags. Unit 13 is one of the most coveted in New Mexico. Game is plentiful and large in this area, with record elk, turkey and deer harvested.

The ranch currently has no infrastructure for livestock or horses. However, it would make for an outstanding equestrian property, with some ideal locations for a barn, arena and pens. Although it could sustain cattle, the numbers are not likely to support the cost of fencing and other improvements that would be needed for a cattle operation.
